Our commitment
PreAct is committed to making preactglobal.org accessible so that people with a wide range of abilities can use it. The website is designed and maintained with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target standard, reflecting the inclusive, crisis-ready values at the heart of PreAct's mission.
Measures we take
To support accessibility across the site we: use semantic HTML with a clear heading structure and landmarks; maintain text contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA requirements; make the site fully operable with a keyboard, including visible focus indicators; provide descriptive alt text for meaningful images; use responsive layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and desktops; and respect reduced-motion preferences by limiting decorative animation where the system requests it.
Assistive technology
The website is regularly tested with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers, and we aim to keep interactive elements — menus, map markers, carousels, forms, and buttons — properly labeled so they can be understood by assistive technologies.
Known limitations
Some content on the website originates from third-party platforms, such as embedded documents, videos, and event registration systems. Their accessibility is determined by those providers, and PreAct works with its partners to encourage accessible experiences wherever possible.
Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process rather than a one-time goal. As new pages, events, and features are added, they are reviewed against the same standards, and issues found along the way are prioritized for correction.
